Mr John Pegler
Appointed as Director on 30 July 2009. Mr Pegler is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He is presently Chairman and a Director of the Australian Coal Association Ltd, and also a Director of ACALET Ltd and Tarong Energy Corporation. He is Past President and a Life Member of the Queensland Resources Council.
John previously held operational roles within BP Australia Limited and Rio Tinto Limited including President Director of PT Kelian Equatorial Mining and Managing Director Group Procurement Eastern Hemisphere. He later operated his own consultancy in project and asset management. More recently he was Chief Executive Officer of Ensham Resources Pty Limited.
He has extensive national and international experience in open cut and underground resource development, mining and processing operations, project leadership and international procurement as well as a background in marketing coal to power generators and steel mills in Australia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India and other countries.
