22 Feb 2017

In January 2017, the Ranger Women's Network (RWN) committee for 2017 term was appointed at the inaugural meeting in Jabiru. The committee includes Leona Katzer (Chair), Sharon Paulka (Secretary) and general committee members Tse Wei Chang, Katrina Bangay and Chloe Bradley.

The inaugural meeting was also an opportunity to network and discuss the direction for the RWN.

Guest speaker on the night was Linda Young from the Minerals Council of Australia Northern Territory Division who provided interesting insights into work-life balance in the mining industry and adapting to challenges of life in the Territory.

The RWN has been formed to provide support, mentoring and encouragement to women who work at Energy Resources of Australia. It recognises those who champion gender diversity and makes available information to inform its members about gender diversity issues, strategies and statistics.

RWN Committee Chair Leona Katzer said the RWN would be organising a number of networking events and presentations over the year in Darwin and Jabiru.

“There are some great activities being planned for the year including International Women and Girls in Science Day, International Women’s Day, mental health and well-being workshops during Mental Health Week, professional development workshops and mentoring opportunities for young women in Jabiru," said Leona.
