Critical Risk Management is a step change in how we identify and control critical risks. It has one purpose, to help eliminate fatalities at Rio Tinto.

As member of the Rio Tinto Group of companies, ERA adheres to the Rio Tinto safety Standards which reflect the latest learnings for Health, Safety, Environment and Communities and Social Performance.

Ranger Mine commenced implementation of the Critical Risk Management (CRM) process, in 2015.

CRM is designed to ensure that each work area has a clear understanding of what potentially fatal risks are associated with work activities, and ensure there are effective controls in place and verified to manage those risks.

The process ensures a standardised approach across all Rio Tinto managed sites and supports a proactive approach to managing critical risks.
