ERA's acid plant was decommissioned in January 2008, after 21 years of operation. Sulphuric acid is now sourced externally and trucked from a bulk storage facility in Darwin to Ranger in purpose-built road trains. Unloaded acid feeds directly into existing sulphuric acid storage infrastructure, consisting of 3 x 3000 tonne acid storage tanks located in a fully bunded area within the processing plant area at Ranger mine.
