Aboriginal employment

By mid 2008, Aboriginal people represented approximately 18% of the ERA workforce, representing a total of 94 employees. ERA has set a target of 20 per cent by the end of 2009. The company also promotes and supports indirect employment opportunities and facilitates 'skills development’ of Aboriginal people.  

Traditional Owners are involved in working for ERA outside of the immediate mine area but on the RPA and Jabiluka leases.  This work includes environmental rehabilitation and monitoring, and cultural heritage clearances.
